RESULTS
Walter Davis and Thoren Davis headed up to the Richmond Regional this weekend. In Saturday’s Junior foil, there were not as many As and Bs as at last week’s Lotus, but there was this huge mass of Cs, Ds, and Es, in the middle. Thoren was 1-5, lost his first DE, and finished 19th. Walter was 2-4, lost the DE, and finished 18th. Today’s cadet foil was larger but with many of the fencers from yesterday’s event. Walter went 1-5 in his pool, lost his DE, and finished 23rd. Thoren was 2-3 in the pool, also lost the DE, and finished 17th.
CLUB UPDATES
The standard fall schedule is totally here as far as lessons and practice. A Saturday practice this week is possible, let me know if there is interest.
We are going to try something different for the October 6th class. It will be an epee only class and limited to those 30 and over. Tuesday/Thursday at 6:30 pm, 6 weeks, standard $60 fee, and USA Fencing membership still required. Let me know if you are interested or have questions.
INFORMATION ON UPCOMING EVENTS
Our first event will be on October 24th and will include Open Foil, Open Epee, and a Div III (D and under) Foil event. It is now up on askfred, and has caps of 28 fencers, so start getting signed up. Very few of our foilists are currently entered. There are only six people in the foil events, but the epee is filled and has a waitlist. A number of other clubs’ events (both sanctioned and unsanctioned) are starting to appear on askfred.
I don’t check all the other events every day, so if you sign up for something like an in-state event (Apex Novice Cup, something at Forge or All-American) make sure I know so the club can give you proper support.
