The Fencer's Library - what is good to have

Have you ever noticed how a fencer 'lives' fencing. We have weapons and books andpick up movies just because they have fencing in the and they sit all over the house and I know this is true for many fencers.

I'm looking to build a of fencing books A fencer should own or read. Some of the books I have read are good and some are not so good, but all the ones I have listed below are worth reading some sections, at least.

I'll start the list:

Magnum De L'Escrime - Big Book Fencing by Rudy Volkmann

Fencing: Steps to Success - by Elaine Cheris

The Ultimate Guide to Weight Training for Fencing - by Robert G. Price

The Art and Science of Fencing - by Nick Evangelista

By the Sword: A History of Gladiators, Musketeers, Samurai, Swashbucklers, and Olympic Champions - By Richard Cohen

Swashbuckling: A Step-by-Step Guide to the Art of Stage Combat and Theatrical Swordplay - By Richard Lane

Any others?

The Book of the Sword  - Ricahrd Burton  (That from which "Sword" books spring)

Renaissance Swordmanship -  John Clements  I believe he also has a Medieval volume

For movies - The Swashbucklers - James Parrish and Don Stanke

The Duel - Robert Baldick

The Art of War - Sun Tzu

The Theory and Practice of Fencing - Julio Castello

Fundamentals of Foil fencing  Joseph Vince  -  where everybody steals their ilustrations of a fencer from

Modern Fencing - Michel Alaux

Fencing - Brian Pitman  no relation to Louisa

Fencing and the Master - Laszlo Szabo  for fencing coaching

Foil, Saber, and Epee Fencing - Garrett, Kaidanov, Pezza

Foil Fencing - Muriel Bower

Epee Fencing - Vass

The History of Fencing - Gaugler  (I put a copy of this in the Office)

The Science of Fencing - Gaugler

On Fencing - Aldo Nadi

Secrets of the Sword - Bazancourt  If you like books written in the old Master/pupil discussion style

I saw a lot of those on Amazon and considered getting them but ultimately didn't.

You can't have possibly forgotten The Princess Bride!?

I'm appalled.

I leave a lot off so I'm not the only one posting in here...silly...Just planting seeds so people get used to coming here for useful info, chatter, and banter.

I still have the most posts by far, but I hope that it will change in the near future.

I have The Art and Science of Fencing, I haven't read it in a while, but I remember  it being fairly good.
